What I do

Support for schools and trusts

Strategic diagnostics

Working with staff and senior leaders to build a clear picture of current AI use, recognise where it can support good practice, and be honest about the areas where it should be avoided.

Pilot design and coaching

Designing and running applied AI pilots with staff, building around planning and curriculum needs, and working with teachers as they test and refine what works in their classrooms.

Implementation guidance

Turning what we learn into clear, usable guidance and training, helping staff use AI safely and consistently without introducing extra complexity.

Why schools work with The AI Tailor

Support grounded in research and real school experience

Education and ITT experience

  • Experience leading ITT partnerships with schools and trusts, grounded in years of classroom teaching.
  • Ongoing research partnerships with higher education institutions and schools.
  • A practical approach to safeguarding that recognises the duty schools hold and keeps AI aligned with safe, stable practice.

AI and implementation expertise

  • Research into how generative AI is used by teachers and what this means for their workload, planning and professional judgement.
  • Neutral, policy aware guidance that sits comfortably with DfE expectations and the concerns that unions have voiced.
  • Practical implementation support that works with existing systems and routines, helping staff use AI safely and consistently without adding friction.

Recent work

Examples of work so far

Trust wide CPD on AI

Designed and delivered a CPD series for a Multi Academy Trust in the North of England, helping senior leaders and staff understand where AI can support their work and where it should be treated with caution.

Pilots across multiple schools

Worked with eight primary schools to pilot a primary focused AI tool developed for planning and curriculum design, helping teachers think through practice in a safe, evidence informed way.

Custom AI support for teachers

Developed tailored AI tools to help departments plan lessons, generate curriculum materials, and think through assessment, with models shaped around local priorities and subject needs.

Approach

How I work

Every school and trust has its own pressures and habits. The work is to understand how your staff plan, teach and assess, then build small, safe changes that help their day rather than complicate it.

Start with what already works in your schools, then look for realistic gains rather than wholesale change.

Test ideas lightly, look at what actually happens, and adjust with the people doing the work.

Keep pedagogy, workload, and safeguarding central in every conversation and decision.

Build lasting confidence and give staff practical tools they can use on their own.

Current work

Where the work is focused

AI readiness reviews

Helping trusts map current AI use against statutory guidance and identify the grey areas where staff are already experimenting.

Teacher workload pilots

Working with teachers to shape planning and curriculum routines so AI is used where it genuinely helps and set aside where it does not add value.

Leadership briefings

Practical briefings for senior leaders that cut through hype and focus on risk, opportunity and the next few decisions you need to take.

The AI Tailor Assistant

A secure AI workspace shaped around your school.

Alongside consultancy and training, I am developing a secure AI workspace that reflects a school or trust’s own policies, curriculum and tone of voice. It is designed to fit into existing routines and systems, supporting workload and professional judgement.

The Assistant is being piloted with a small number of schools and trusts. If you would like to explore whether it might fit your context, mention it when you get in touch below.

Get in touch

A short conversation about your context

If you are trying to decide what role AI should play in your school or trust, we can use half an hour together to map where you are now and what might be worth testing next.

For example: Headteacher, Director of Education, ITT Lead, Governor.
